The XQuartz project is an open-source effort to develop a version of the X.Org X Window System that runs on OS X. Together with supporting libraries and applications, it forms the X11.app that Apple shipped with OS X versions 10.5 through 10.7.

Gimp Pour Mac Sierra Installer
- Gimp-Print 4.2.7 is the last stable release of Gimp-Print version 4.2.x for Mac OS X; it includes 225 drivers supporting over 600 printers. The disk-image file includes an OS X installer package, an uninstaller package, plus illustrated documentation to easily guide you through the printer set-up process.
- The features in GIMP are almost identical to those of any other image editor: layers, alpha channels, history, selection tools, transformation, masks, blurring, etc. You can also use GIMP to convert an image format, process files by the batch, create vector images, and edit animated graphics.

GIMP access on Mac Open Finder, locate the gimp dmg file, and then just hold the control key when you click on the Gimp dmg, and click open. It will then allow you to install/open gimp without disabling any security settings. Wanting to use GIMP on my Mac proved to be a challenge, not in a way I planned. I'd gone to GIMP's website to download both the 2.8 and 2.10 pre-compiled dmg files to install GIMP.I'd read up a bit beforehand; the articles I'd found indicated that some useful Script-fu scripts came with the 2.8 version but had disappeared in the 2.10 upgrade. Important Info for 10.5 Users
OS X Software Updates have included some of the work done by the XQuartz project, but for various reasons, Apple cannot ship the latest and greatest version offered by the XQuartz site. Since the XQuartz X11 package clobbers Apple's X11.app, their software update will clobber the XQuartz X11 package. Because of this, you may experience conflicts after doing a Software Update from Apple. Please re-install the latest XQuartz X11 release for Leopard after installing a system software update to OS X 10.5.x Leopard.
